General Work Schedule (days of week) Monday through Sunday General shift hours As needed, but generally 9 hours/day between 7:30 AM and 9 PM.
This position also requires 15-20 hours of preparation before each course, compensation for which is included in the gross amount noted in the employment offer.
Benefits Eligible? No Job Summary/Basic Function The Instructor in a Concordia Language Villages Language Training Center (LTC) program is responsible for the instruction and overall implementation of a language-specific iso-immersion program as guided by the Lead Instructor/Program Coordinator.
This includes planning and implementation of a variety of program elements, and may also include public relations, and interaction with the support staff from the operations areas at the Language Villages.
The Instructor is responsible for implementing program elements that reflect the mission and immersion principles/methodology of Concordia Language Villages, that align with the parameters of the Concordia LTC model, and that are in accordance with the expressed needs of the LTC client.
The Instructor reports to the respective LTC Lead Instructor and to the administrative team of Concordia Language Villages as a whole.
Minimum Qualifications • Superior (at minimum) proficiency in the target language/dialects and Advanced (minimum) proficiency English • Commitment to the importance of immersion language and culture education • Knowledge of effective teaching strategies and methodologies for second language learning • Strong organizational skills • Excellent oral and written communication skills • B.
A.

Airline travel or mileage expenses related to getting to the training course in Bemidji, Minnesota, will also be covered or reimbursed.
Additional expenses incurred during the travel to and from the training facility are the responsibility of the employee (including baggage fees, taxi fares, Uber charges, meals, etc.
